An anthological album with a collection of historical and traditional seafaring songs of the anglo-saxon maritime culture (shanties), reinterpreted and rearranged in the style of the band, the album is placed after the success of Skull and Bones (tales from over the seas), which has collected many positive reviews from critics and audiences, as the conclusion of the narrative piratical themes parenthesis of the band.

Shanty dating from the late eighteenth century is one of the first songs of its kind and which influenced many after it, Captain John Robinson dates the first version of the song, in its current form, in Canada in 1917, with the title "Galloping Randy Dandy O." A song that was created to push and spur the crew in the long and difficult journey to Capo Horn, with a stop in Vallipo Bay- Valparaíso, Chile, and, not surprisingly, here is included as an opener.
lyrics
Now we are ready to sail for the horn
Weigh hey, roll and go!
Our boots and our clothes
Boys, are all in the pawn
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Heave a pawl, o heave away
Weigh hey, roll and go!
The anchor's on board
And the cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Soon we'll be warping
Her out through the locks
Weigh hey, roll and go!
Where the pretty young girls
All come Down in their frocks
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Heave a pawl, o heave away!
Weigh hey, roll and go!
The anchor's on board
And the cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Come breast the bars,
Bullies, heave her away
Weigh hey, roll and go!
Soon we'll be rolling her
Down through the Bay
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Heave a pawl, o heave away!
Weigh hey, roll and go!
The anchor's on board
And the cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
We're outward bound for Vallipo Bay,
Get crackin', me lads, it's a hell of a way!
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Heave a pawl, o heave away!
Weigh hey, roll and go!
The anchor's on board
And the cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy-Oh!
Damnation sounds fantastic - better than any Running Wild disc in the last tens of years! If you like Power and Speed Metal and don't insist on a high degree of independence, you simply can't get past Ced and his crew!

Heart, hope, and humility come together with stellar songwriting and performances to make a uniquely uplifting and wonderful power metal album. bigzoinks
Alestorm return with another batch of rollicking pirate metal. Swinging, sawing keys, “yo-ho-ho” sing-along choruses, and riffs for days. Bandcamp New & Notable May 29, 2017
This is the best power metal album of 2023, if you love old school power metal (POWER QUEST, FREEDOM CALL) you will LOVE Skyblazer. Every track is full of euphoria, power and energy. My power metal heart loves every second of this record. cmbaer
